Spider Veins

Due to the diversity of vascular conditions that exist Midwest Cosmetic and Laser Surgery Centre is happy to provide a variety of treatment options for its patients. Each of these options have been specifically designed and proven to safely and effectively treat the particular vascular condition.

The pulsed dye laser has over 15 years of well-documented history of safety and effectiveness in treating vascular lesions. The laser light emitted is specifically absorbed by the blood vessels which are photo-coagulated and thus heal without evidence of vascularity.

Various vascular lesions such as rosacea and facial telangectasia are treated using Aurora technology, which makes use of a unique combination of electrical energy, light and cooling.

Sclerotherapy is an injection technique used to treat unwanted spider veins - particularly those in the lower extremities. Spider veins are small superficial vessels of red or blue color that appear on the surface of the skin. Lasers have been used to treat this condition in some situations but in general sclerotherapy has proven itself as a more effective treatment presenting fewer complications.
