Exosomes are nanosized membrane-bound vesicles secreted by cells into the extracellular space. They are critical intercellular messengers that transport a complex “cargo” of proteins, lipids, mRNA, and nutrients that regulate physiologic cell processes.
The cargo of exosomes can reprogram target cells' behaviour.  In skin cells, this process stimulates and enhances collagen and elastin production, repairing the skin's barrier and improving wound healing, skin rejuvenation, and hydration.
